Yuichi Nagakawa is a Chair and Professor in the Department of Gastrointestinal and Pediatric Surgery at Tokyo Medical University. He serves as a board member of the Japan Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, holding numerous committee roles in academic societies in Japan. Additionally, he has conducted several multicenter studies, including international consensus meetings. Professor Nagakawa is one of the leading Japanese surgeons in pancreatic surgery, particularly in minimally invasive surgery. His primary research focuses on the development of novel treatments for pancreatic cancer and the establishment of precise anatomical resection for minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. Recently, he has been actively pursuing the establishment of safe resection methods for arteries and portal veins, including the jejunal vein, in locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
