Vincenzo Corbo

Vincenzo Corbo is an Associate Professor and group leader at the University of Verona. He completed his PhD in research at the University of Verona under the supervision of Prof. Aldo Scarpa, focusing on the genomic characterization of pancreatic malignancies. Vincenzo trained as a postdoctoral researcher in David Tuveson lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY (USA), where he contributed to developing the three-dimensional organoid culture system for studying pancreatic cancer. After his postdoctoral work, Vincenzo returned to the University of Verona with a Starting Grant from the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC). He was appointed Associate Professor in 2021. Vincenzo has received grants from the AIRC, the European Union (PRECODE project), and the Italian Ministry of Research (MUR). He has also served as Principal Investigator for the Italian Subsite of the Cancer Model Development Center, funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI, USA) as part of the Human Cancer Model Initiative (https://ocg.cancer.gov/programs/HCMI). His lab focuses on understanding how somatic genetic and interindividual variations influence cancer cell evolution under environmental pressures.
