Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Centre, Portugal

Jose Espejo Valle-Inclán is a Principal Investigator at the Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Centre. He earned his PhD from the Center for Molecular Medicine at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) in the Netherlands, where he worked under the supervision of Dr. Wigard Kloosterman and Prof. Edwin Cuppen. His doctoral research focused on cancer genomics, structural variation, and integration of novel sequencing technologies. Following his PhD, Jose worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Isidro Cortés-Ciriano’s group at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in Hinxton, UK, where he investigated the mechanisms underlying complex genomic rearrangements in cancer. Currently, at the Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Centre, Jose’s research will focus on the evolution of the pancreatic cancer genome and the application of cutting-edge genomic technologies.
