Christopher L. Wolfgang, MD, PhD is the Chief of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery and  Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs at NYU Langone Health System. He is a Professor of Surgery  at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His clinical activities focus on the care of patients with pancreatic cancer and cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. He has a particular interest in developing methods for the safe resection of locally advanced pancreas cancer. Dr. Wolfgang runs a research lab focused on the study of circulating tumor cells and minimal residual disease – the origin of the most common  pattern of treatment failure following an oncologic resection.
